FACIALS FOR ADULTS AND TEENS
Maria Skincare, Taunton MA
A facial is a professional skincare treatment designed to cleanse, purify, and rejuvenate the skin on the face and neck. Facials are the most popular treatment performed by estheticians and provide an excellent way for your therapist to assess your skin before recommending additional treatments. Whether you’re a teen managing acne or an adult seeking hydration, anti-aging, or brightening, facials are a customized solution for your unique skin needs.
Facials vary in type, duration, and intensity. A mini facial may last 20–30 minutes, while a luxurious full facial can be 75–90 minutes. Your esthetician will recommend the best facial for your skin type and goals, and can adjust the treatment to focus on hydration, exfoliation, relaxation, or acne management.
PREPARING FOR YOUR FACIAL
Arrive a little early to complete a detailed intake form and avoid feeling rushed. Your hair may become slightly damp during the facial, typically secured with a soft wrap or headband. There is no need to remove your makeup prior to your appointment, as it will be thoroughly cleansed during your session.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Facials are relaxing and soothing. Your esthetician will guide you through each step, which may include:
Makeup removal and cleansing
Skin analysis
Exfoliation (mechanical, enzymatic, or chemical)
Face and neck massage to stimulate circulation
Extractions of blackheads or impurities if needed
Application of products tailored to your skin type
After your facial, your skin will feel soft, smooth, and hydrated. Some redness is normal after extractions or exfoliation and usually subsides within a few hours. Mineral makeup can be applied to conceal any temporary redness.

HOME CARE
Your esthetician will provide professional home care recommendations to maintain and enhance your results. Following a consistent at-home routine ensures longer-lasting benefits and supports healthy, balanced skin between treatments.
